Wine year 2004

The changeable year 2004 began with frequent rainfall. Budding was delayed as the weather continued to be damp and cool in places. Due to the sunless months of May and June, flowering also began later and was partly affected by the heavy rain – the result was a “natural” yield restriction. However, the turnaround came with a gloriously sunny August and a similarly beautiful September with low night-time temperatures, which made for good aroma training.
